Susan highlights Special Olympics through Lummi interview

Friday, June 29th, Susan Harmon will interview Nick Lewis from the Lummi Indian Business Council and Clifford Green, Lummi, who has won awards in past Special Olympics, as her guests. They will talk about present and past involvement by the Lummi Nation in Special Olympic activities. Be sure to tune in to The Susan Harmon Experience at 12 p.m.
On July 1, The Special Olympics will open the 50th Anniversary of the games. This is the first time The Special Olympics will be held in Seattle. The welcoming theme focuses on the four elements and the water segment of the opening is an honoring of Chief Seattle by Coast Salish peoples. Jewell James, master Lummi carver will raise a pair of healing poles called “Three Red Sisters” These poles carry  sacred stories of Lummi and Duwamish peoples.
