Eldon Taylor, host of Provocative Enlightenment, heard Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., has announced the program’s exciting lineup for January:
Common Problems with New Year’s Resolutions
A resolution is promise to one’s self. Every New Year many people resolve to change their lives, but it’s not only on New Year’s Day that we make these promises. Join Eldon and Ravinder for an in depth look at why resolutions generally fail for most people, and what can be done to end the cycle of broken promises. Learn how to make agreements with yourself that you will keep!
Medical Intuitiveness with Caroline Sutherland
Caroline Sutherland is a medical intuitive, author, radio host, teacher and innovative leader in the fields of nutrition and energy medicine. She’s the popular Hay House author of The Body Knows book series. Caroline has a vast clinical background as an allergy-testing technician in Environmental Medicine where her intuitive gift developed. In the early 1980’s while working as a physician’s assistant she began to receive intuitive impressions about the patients, an experience which groomed her to become one of the most sought-after medical intuitives today. Caroline was raised in a medical family – both her father and grandfather were medical doctors. As a child the “blueprint” of her family lineage created important seeds for her future career as a medical intuitive. For over 35 years, she has lectured internationally on the subject of health education and medical intuition.
Finding Purpose in a Godless World (Part Two) with Dr. Ralph Lewis
Ralph Lewis, MD, joins Eldon for a discussion setting theistic beliefs against the atheistic perspective. In his newest book, Finding Purpose in a Godless World, Lewis argues that religious beliefs are not necessary, indeed often even foolish, to find true meaning and purpose in life. He uses scientific findings to suggest how mind emerges from brain, how religious notions often disappoint believers, how evolution explains life itself, and more.
Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World with Professor Mark Williams
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) targets the critical risk mechanism in recurrent depression: the tendency to react to small changes in mood with large amounts of negative self-focused rumination. Mindfulness practice teaches patients to notice this tendency to ruminate earlier so that people can respond more skillfully. Research trials have found that MBCT reduces the risk of recurrence of depression by over 30% overall, with reductions of over 50% in those with the longest and most severe depression.
