*Roleta Batiste, Washington State Work Source has been a stalwart with the Opportunity Fair that begins at 8:30 am on the MLK Holiday at Seattle’s Garfield High School. The Opportunity Fair had over 500 hundred visitors at the 2019 MLK event and 138 job offers were made that day.

*Liahann Bannerman, Director, Volunteer Engagement, King County United Way and Chair Seattle MLK Organizing Coalition Volunteer Committee.

*Tana Yasu, Chair, Seattle Martin Luther King Jr Organizing Coalition Youth Event that will be held Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute from 12:00-5:00 pm. The event will feature a variety of local artist and free food.

She recently led an effort in the passage of the FUTURE ACT which will guarantee funding for minority institutions of higher education. 50% of all Black professionals graduated from HBCU’s and 40% of the 55 members of the Congressional Black Caucus graduated from HBCU’s.
