Vicki St Clair welcomes Northwest activist and wildlife author John Bierlein to her show for an hour-long special Monday, June 19th from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. The program also repeats each week on Fridays from 6 a.m. – 7 a.m. as well as archives here.
Speaking about Bierlein’s book, St Clair said, “It’s a beautiful book, full of rich photos and stories about the animals and the people of Woodland Park Zoo. I encourage people to email any questions to us.” You can do so here.
While animal activists might disagree, conservationists generally concur that well-run zoos help raise awareness, and provide an important space for humans and animals to connect. Discover the story behind a Seattle icon and address those conflicting views, with Vicki and John during Conversations Live with Vicki St. Clair.
John began his career at Discovery Park more than 40 years ago, and was involved with the design of Woodland Park Zoo for 20 years. John wrote Woodland: The Story of the Animals and People of Woodland Park Zoo as a continuation of the work done by longtime zoo colleague, Dana Payne.
During her program, Vicki brings listeners inspiring and stimulating conversations with innovative business leaders, cutting edge medical and health professionals, authors, filmmakers, journalists, adventurers, and ordinary people, leading extraordinary lives.
