Tune to Provocative Enlightenment, Monday, August 10th at 12 p.m. as hosts Eldon and Ravinder Taylor sit down with Kristin Neff, Ph.D. to discuss self-compassion.
“The relentless search for high self-esteem has become a virtual religion. Our competitive culture tells us we need to be special to feel good about ourselves, but we can’t all be above average at the same time. Even when we do manage to feel self-esteem for one golden moment, we can’t hold on to it,” said Eldon, adding, “Our sense of self-worth bounces around like a ping-pong ball, rising and falling in lock-step with our latest success or failure.Fortunately, there is an alternative to self-esteem that many psychologists believe is a better and more effective path to happiness.”
For his part Eldon Taylor is an award winning New York Times best-selling author of over 300 books and audio/video programs, and is the host of the popular syndicated radio show, Provocative Enlightenment. His most recent works include Gotcha: The Subordination of Free Will, Choices and Illusions, I Believe, Mind Programming, What Does That Mean?, What If?, and Self-Hypnosis and Subliminal Technology. Eldon has earned doctoral degrees in both clinical and pastoral psychology and is a Fellow in the American Psychotherapy Association as well as a certified Master Chaplain.
Assisting on all levels of the show is Ravinder Taylor, co-host who also holds a B.Sc. degree in microbiology from Aberystwyth University in Wales, a Bachelors degree in Metaphysics from the University of Metaphysics in Sedona, Arizona, has studied hypnosis and psychotherapy at the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy in London, England, and is an ordained interdenominational minister. She is Vice President of Progressive Awareness Research, and co-host of, Provocative Enlightenment.
