*State Representative Sharon Tomiko Santos comments on her priorities of the this short legislative session and update the progress of the Central District Community Preservation Development Authority (CD CPDA) process. The CD CPDA became a reality with Representative Santos sponsorship of House Bill 1918 in 2019 that passed the House and Senate unanimously.

*Shaude’ Moore, Chair, Seattle Martin Luther King Jr. Organizing Coalition and a member of the McKinney Coalition. She was in Olympia on Tuesday advocating for the state funds in the Governor’s supplemental budget for the Central District Community Preservation Development Authority.

*Linda Thompson Black, Pacific Northwest Area Development Director, United Negro College Fund (UNCF) comments on the success of the organization and invites you to support equality in higher education after all “a mind is a terrible thing to waste”. *Minister Jimmy Hurd, Holgate Church of Christ is hosting the reception Monday, February 17 after the Black History Celebration Program and Tree Lighting Program at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Civil Rights Park at 4:30 pm (the program will be moved to Holgate Church of Christ if there is inclement weather).
