*Angela Rye, CEO, Impact Strategies, Former Executive Director and General Counsel, Congressional Black Caucus, CNN Political Commentator, NPR Contributor, and a former Seattle/King County NAACP Afro Cultural Technological Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) local and national winner will speak in Seattle Saturday, July 13 at a tribute honoring Mrs. Carolyn Riley Payne for leading the Seattle/King County ACT-SO for 40 years.

*Leonetta Espy Elaiho, one of the leaders of the Carolyn Riley Payne Appreciation Day Committee comments on the progress of the committee’s leading up to Saturday, July 13 5:30 pm event honoring Carolyn Riley Payne for her service to our youth.

*Toyia Taylor will MC the Carolyn Riley Payne program at Seattle’s First AME Church’s Social Hall on Saturday, July 13 doors open at 5:30 pm. Toyia talks about after her ACT-SO experience how Mrs. Riley Payne came back to support her in Washington DC when she competed for and won Miss America Washington DC.

*Chasidy Douglas has been leading the media outreach for the Carolyn Riley Payne Appreciation Day Committee and will share her experience with ACT-SO under Mrs. Payne’s leadership.

*Cathie Wilmore, Fathers and Sons Together (FAST) in partnership with Baseball Beyond Borders (Bookie Gates) will be offering an Empowerment Baseball Camp on Saturday, July 20 10:00 am-2:00 pm at Rainier Beach High School Baseball Play-field. Professional coaches and players will be present, surprise speakers and food, all free.
