*Al Hariston coached basketball at Seattle’s Garfield High School 1990-2000 his teams won five State Championships. He comments on his time at the school. The Garfield High School Centennial was celebrated on Saturday.
*Ammon McWashington served as Principal of Garfield High School 1977-1988 and again 1994-96. He reflects on his history at the school that just held its Centennial Celebration Saturday.
*Jo Jo Rodriguez played basketball at Garfield High School 1972-75, they won the State Championship in 1974 (SuperDogs). He also coached Garfield’s basketball team 1985-1996. He will comment on his experience at the school as player and coach.
*Shawn McWashington played quarterback at Garfield High School (1990-93) shares his experience in the classroom and the football field during his years at Garfield.
*Tony Benton, Founder, Rainier Avenue Radio.World streamed the Garfield Centennial Celebration on Saturday and the observance of the 59th Anniversary of the August 28, 1963 March on Washington DC for Jobs and Freedom on Sunday. He will share his perspective.
*Paul Mitchell of the Northwest Black Pioneers that will host once again the annual gathering at the Jimi Hendrix and Sam Smith Parks on Sunday, September 4 10 am-6:00 pm.
