Civil Rights roundtable live from Evergreen State College-Tacoma Campus

Thursday, March 10 on Urban Forum Northwest –

*Dr. Marcia Tate Arunga, Dean Evergreen State College-Tacoma Campus is hosting a Legacy Series that will encompass experiences of individuals who participated in the Civil Rights struggle and the Black Student Union movement of the 1960’s and early ’70’s in Seattle and Tacoma Washington.

*Dr. Gilda Sheppard is retired Evergreen State College-Tacoma Campus Professor she will share her experience as a student activist and some of her memories she had at the Tacoma Campus.

*Attorney Barbara Laners is a retired Evergreen State College-Tacoma Campus Professor who has been a talk show host and active in the Civil Rights movements for decades.

*Dr. Dexter Gordon is Executive Vice President, Evergreen State College is prominent in the education scene in the Puget Sound area and was well known for his work at the University of Puget Sound.

*Larry Gossett, former King County Councilman who led the fight to have King County named for Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will participate in the Evergreen-Tacoma Campus Legacy Series. He has fought for Civil Rights and Human Rights for decades.

*Attorney Ray Connell is the Honorary Council for Jamaica comments on his duties and responsibilities that he has agreed to take on.
