Do you wish you could save your relationship from your couch? (You can.)

LoveShackLive_600x315

If the quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives, why do we spend so little time (and money) investing in them?

We expect our partners to support us through the hardest times in our lives, to literally hold us up when we feel like collapsing. But, our relationships are also the first thing we neglect when our lives get too full of obligations and responsibilities. How does that work?

“It’s so common for us to think that if we only have a few small problems, we can put off addressing or talking about them and they’ll just go away. But the reality is that if you feel the problems brewing, everybody’s feeling it,” says Staci Bartley, who along with her husband Tom hosts Love Shack Live, adding, “If your arm is broken, you rush to the doctor. If your iPhone is broken, you book the soonest appointment at the Apple Store. So, why do we just cross our fingers and just hope everything will work out when our relationships are broken?”

Tune to Love Shack Live, Thursday, April 22nd at 1 p.m. and join in the conversation.

Staci says if we could address our problems sooner, we could prevent them from becoming bigger and bigger later. It’s time we maintain our relationships as we go, instead of trying to piece them back together once they’ve already fallen apart.

In this episode, Staci and Tom are covering several key topics about how it’s possible to save your relationship from your couch, including:

  • Exactly what prevents us from taking action when we know it’s time to fix our relationships;
  • We’re going to explore some real-life stories of relationships and the scary and fearful part that stopped them dead in their tracks from getting the help that they needed;
  • How working with us is different than working with a counselor; and
  • What we mean when we say it’s possible to save your relationship from the comfort of your own couch.
