Conscious Talk Radio celebrates 15 years!

It’s been a wild ride these past 15 yeconscious-talkars. . .not only for Alternative Talk 1150, but also one of its longest-standing programs, Conscious Talk Radio.

The brainchild of Brenda Michaels and Rob Spears, Conscious Talk Radio has seen a flurry of growth from airing just once per week on Sunday nights to now being on the air five days per week, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. During their show they strive to transform the world one listener at a time from the inside out. Their goal is clear: help listeners start their day in a brand new, uplifting way.

“During my recovery from cancer my entire life changed, and so did the direction I was moving in.  Initially, I moved to LA to become an actress, but after the cancer experience I realized I wanted to make a difference.  I intuitively knew it would be through media.  Upon moving to Seattle, Rob felt the same so we created Conscious Talk Radio as a way to make a difference and give back,” said Brenda.

They have made a difference, considering 15 years of expert guests, fascinating conversations and practical advice. So many memories and so many lives touched.

“In the beginning no one was talking about consciousness as the overriding concept in what makes up our lives, and how we live our lives.  This is why we cover consciousness, because it covers every area of life, from personal to environmental, to spirituality, to finance, relationships, all of it,” said Rob.

Part of their success has been their dedication to producing an ethical and informative show. Though there were struggles from time to time with the financial aspect of producing the program, they were careful to only align themselves and their brand with like minded, and equally ethical people and businesses.

When not hosting their program, Brenda and Rob better the world around them through personal counseling, classes, speaking engagements, participating with groups, and bringing new health products to the public. As for the future, they look to offer more in-depth classes on how to apply the concept they have been talking about for years, reaching out to larger groups, volunteering, and marketing their health products.
