People use New Year calendar dates to reference a new start for a new perspective. Other calendar systems provide special perspectives beyond the Gregorian calendar’s January 1st date. Chinese New Year operates on a lunar system rather than a solar system. It occurs annually on the 2nd new moon after the winter December solstice because January signifies the 11th month of the Chinese calendar. As we live increasingly global, celebrating Chinese New year involves a huge Asian population and provides a special significance for the specific combination of its energies.
The Aquarius New Moon on February 11, ushers in the Year of the White Metal Ox also known as the Buffalo. The Ox or Buffalo general characteristics include: honesty, earnest, hard-working, sensitive, and of particular popularity with friends.
Aquarius Cosmic Collaboration considers what perspectives might develop incorporating the traditional western astrological significance with the Chinese New Year celebrating the White Metal Ox, besides other calendars such as the Mayan astrological calendar beginning this year on February 19 in a Year Bearing Lord sign. In a cycle devoted to developmental perspectives in response to the current lunar nodes Gemini for the north and Sagittarius for the south, these calendars offer insights to the possibilities of developing perspectives.
