Mark Putnam, Executive Director, Accelerator YMCA and Emily Meltzer, Director of Development & Communications, Accelerator YMCA share important insights about young people who experience homelessness, and find solutions through the YMCA. There are 1,500 homeless youth and young adults in King County, 1 in 3 youth who age out of foster care become homeless; 40% of youth experiencing homelessness identify as LGBTQ) Accelerator Y is the social services arm of the YMCA of Greater Seattle and is focusing on a major fundraiser for Giving Tuesday: UnHeard – a campaign that will run through the end of the year, that pairs local artists with young people housed by the Y to give them a voice and tell their stories through music. www.unheardseattle.org , www.seattleymca.org
