The Sounders Women are back for another exciting year of W-League soccer, with the regular season kicking off on Monday, May 27th against the LA Strikers at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila. First year head coach Hubert Busby, Jr. has assembled an impressive squad of former University of Washington Huskies & Seattle University Redhawks players along with many other collegiate stars from around the northwest and throughout the country.
Alternative Talk 1150 is pleased to announce that all road games this year will be broadcast live with veteran sportscaster Jon Billings providing the play-by-play. Want more? Then be sure to tune-in to Sounders Women Monthly on Sunday, May 26th – June 30th – and July 28th for all of the inside stuff and everything else that’s all Sounders Women. In addition to these one-hour shows, all match broadcast will be archived here on 1150KKNW.com.

The Sounders Women kicked off the regular season this last week with impressive wins over the Vancouver Whitecaps (2-0), the Colorado Rush (2-1) and the Victoria Highlanders (1-0). Coming up next are 2 home games at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila with a Monday (6/4/12) match against the Colorado Rapids at 7PM, followed by a 7PM rematch against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Friday (6/8/12). Sounders Women & US Women's National Team forward, Alex Morgan, will be a featured guest on Q It Up Sports on Sunday (6/3/12) night at 9:30PM on channel 22 - and again at 10:30PM on channel 13.
MikeR - The Sounders Women rolled over the Colorado Rush 3-0 on Monday (6/4/12) with goals by Alex Morgan, Lindsey Patterson and Stephanie Cox. The win gives the Sounders Women 12 points through the first 4 games, and a seat at the top of the table with the Pali Blues. A 7PM rematch with the Vancouver Whitecaps is on tap for Friday (6/8/12) at Starfire Stadium. The game is nearly sold out, and remaining tickets are available at www.sounderswomen.com.

It was a sold out house at Starfire Stadium on Friday night (6/8/12),but the Sounders Women were held scoreless as the Vancouver Whitecaps came away with a 0-0 draw. The Sounders Women do pick up a point, and are currently in second place with 4-0-1 record in W-League play. The home stand continues following a much deserved 11 day break when the LA Strikers pay a visit on Sunday, June 17th at 4PM.
