Big Red Football

nebraska_logoNebraska Cornhuskers Football On Alternative Talk 1150
Follow Big Red football again this year as Head Coach Bo Pelini is gunning for his 7th straight 9-win season. The Huskers will be led on offense by senior all-purpose running back Ameer Abdullah and sophomore quarterback Tommy Armstrong III. And, combined with an always tough Blackshirt defense anchored by All American Randy Gregory – it’s no surprise that Nebraska is once again expected to compete for the newly established Western Division title – and earn a berth to the Big-10 Conference championship game in December.

It was the Ameer Abdullah show last Saturday (10/25/14) as the All-American hopeful ran wild – racking up over 340 all purpose yards while powering Big Red past the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 42-24, in front of an NCAA record 338th consecutive sellout at Memorial Stadium. The senior I-Back also tallied 3 scores on 225 rushing yards, and senior receiver Kenny Bell grabbed 6 receptions for 63 yards to set a school mark of 167 career catches.

The 16th ranked Cornhuskers move to 7-1 on the season, and 3-1 in conference play with a pivotal showdown against the Purdue Boilermakers coming up this Saturday at 12:30PM. The Husker Pre-Game Show starts it all off at 12PM right here on Alternative Talk 1150… and Let’s Go Big Red!
