Mirror Touch: Notes from a Doctor Who Can Feel Your Pain with Joel Salinas, MD
Challenging our understanding of what it means to be human, Joel Salinas, a Harvard-trained researcher and neurologist at Massachusetts General, shares his experiences with mirror-touch synesthesia, a rare and only recently identified neurological trait that causes him to feel the emotional and physical experiences of other people. Salinas refers to his condition as a kind of compulsory mindfulness, a heightened empathic ability that offers him invaluable clues about how to see and live the world through other people’s perspectives.

Provocative Enlightenment, offers a novel, yet hard-hitting approach to those formally soft questions that everyone is interested in, such as: Who am I? What does this all mean? How do I maximize my life experience?

Walking the fine line between the outer edges of hard science and the New Age extremes, host Eldon Taylor covers subjects that are relevant to us all by aiming for the heavens while keeping feet firmly on the ground. Eldon has interviewed a large variety of guests, ranging from famous actors such as Lindsay Wagner and Linda Evans, to Congressman Tim Ryan and biologist Rupert Sheldrake, Other guests have included renowned psychologist Stanley Krippner and famous medium James Van Praagh.

For his part Eldon Taylor is an award winning New York Times best-selling author of over 300 books and audio/video programs, and is the host of the popular syndicated radio show, Provocative Enlightenment. His most recent works include Gotcha: The Subordination of Free Will, Choices and Illusions, I Believe, Mind Programming, What Does That Mean?, What If?, and Self-Hypnosis and Subliminal Technology. Eldon has earned doctoral degrees in both clinical and pastoral psychology and is a Fellow in the American Psychotherapy Association as well as a certified Master Chaplain.

Assisting on all levels of the show is Ravinder Taylor, co-host who also holds a B.Sc. degree in microbiology from Aberystwyth University in Wales, a Bachelors degree in Metaphysics from the University of Metaphysics in Sedona, Arizona, has studied hypnosis and psychotherapy at the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy in London, England, and is an ordained interdenominational minister.
